About the Founder of Diamond Memoirs
I am a born and bred Clevelander, a wife, a mom, & a woman who has spent most of my career serving the older adult community!
Hello and welcome to Diamond Memoirs! My name is Amy Diamond Cantor. I'm a born and bred Clevelander, married since 1992 to my high school sweetheart and also a mom of three children in their 20's. My entire life I've had a passion for serving older adults and have spent most of my career doing so, minus the years I was raising my kids. As early as high school, I had volunteered in several eldercare positions. In fact, my mom tells me that even as a toddler, I was drawn to older adults. After high school, I continued on to Miami University, home of the renowned Scripps Gerontology Center, where I studied gerontology and sociology and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I also achieved my Master of Education at Kent State University. Some of my work accomplishments include creating and running an adult education program for an older adult community (think college classes for older adults) and also coordinating continuing education presentations for professionals in the eldercare field.
Over the last several years following Covid, like many, I needed to make some adjustments and focused much of my attention on a side business educating people about the importance of a low-toxin lifestyle. However, while it was important work for me, I deeply missed my interactions with older adults. One day I was sitting at my desk when an idea quite literally popped into my head and led me back to my lifetime passion for seniors. I began thinking about how invaluable the stories of older adults are and wanted to create a way to help individuals leave a legacy through their stories. It took just a few short months to develop my idea and thus, Diamond Memoirs was born!
